Saturday, February 12, 2005 * (12) chinese new year...

Crazy lor... the pre-Lunar New Year period! What a mad rush it was having to complete the springcleaning. Ahem, telling the maid what to do and ensuring the tasks are carried out correctly isn't child's play. Then there's decorating the home with CNY stuff aka red decor... ahhh, this one, I did myself, plus giving the gate a fresh coat of paint. Noooooooooo... not red paint! Lastly, but most importantly, buying goodies and of course, new clothes! Mind you... the parents didn't even get new clothes for ourselves.

Ben and Jon aren't really bothered about having new clothes and they'll just wear what I buy. Ahhh... that means my teenage fashion sense isn't too bad! But Judith and Emily... tsk, tsk, they insisted (more like, whinned) that they must have at least 2 sets each!! So picky some more that they didn't even manage to get new footwear! But it was fun shopping with the girls! Yah... the boys couldn't be bothered to tag along!

I think my kids all loved the 1st day of the Lunar New Year best cos they know that I had to refrain from scolding or nagging! But then, I expect them to be on their best behaviour! Aiyah... what is 1 day out 365 days? It shouldn't be a difficult task. Of course they have their 15 days to collect angpows, after which I will 'force' them to hand them over to me! Eh... I bank their angpow $ into their personal savings accounts... every year... without fail!

Ok lah... those above 18 years can keep a portion of their angpow $!! Happy now, Judith??
