(235) fun, food and fats...
The second half of June was a whirl of fun, food and good company! It kicked off with an early Father's Day celebration on 14 June with the paternal side of the family. Some people couldn't make it, so foodwise wasn't that great but the atmosphere made up for it.
Then BTG and two of her brothers (Bosco & Mayle) decided to sleepover that night cos they wanted to pick Judith from the airport the next morning. They helped Emily prepare two placards: 'Hello' and 'Judith'. LOL.... when Judith approached the luggage belt, Laogong and Emily held the placards the wrong way that they read 'Judith Hello'! They probably didn't have enough sleep cos Judith's flight came in at 5.30am!
In the evening, it was family time with the materal side of the family as we had an early Father's Day celebration too! The maternal grandparents were pleasantly surprised to see Judith as we had kept her very short trip home a secret from them! They were also surprised to see four more 'grandkids' - 'gatecrashers' from the paternal side of the family!
The Dads!Judith & the Crashers at the ParkThe Bona-fide GrandkidsThe Feast! (the reason we had crashers) The next day, Sunday afternoon, was spent shopping with Judith, Emily and BTG. They probably wanted me along cos I am their ATM machine. And to justify their many buys, the girls made me to get new clothes for myself. They said I needed a complete makeover. Phew, we got home in time to pick up Laogong and the boys to Nihon Mura for our own Father's Day dinner!
On Monday, as if we didn't have enough food and fun during the past three days, we made our way to the Safra resort for our annual 4D/3N family chalet! As usual, we had a bbq on the first night and a seafood dinner at Changi Village on the second night. But for the last night... we had leftovers! So sad, right?? Just when I thought the feasting was over, my cousin, Catherine invited my family for dinner. Lots of time, it was always 'Hi-Bye' when we meet. But this time round, we had a leisurely and cosy get-together last Saturday. What a pity Judith had to fly off one week earlier. She and Brigitte would had have lots to catch up on. Food was secondary but I must say Catherine's bbq was the certainly the best I ever had!
Sigh.... now for Great Singapore Workout to get rid of the excess kilos!

(234) work ethics...
I have offended God and mankind because
my work didn't reach the quality it should have
Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519)
Work ethics include not only how one feels about his job,
career or vocation, but also how one does his job or carry
out his responsibilities. This involves attitude, behaviour,
respect, communication and interaction; how one gets
along with others. In short, one must be dedicated and
committed to completing his work and tasks successfully

(233) accountability...
The ancient Romans had a tradition...
Whenever one of their engineers constructed an arch,
as the capstone was hoisted into place,
the engineer assumed accountability for his work
in the most profound way possible...
He stood under the arch!
