(224 ) super hot news...
No no, this is not about Edison Chen and his harem of starlets!
From the AsiaOne website:
THE leader of the Singapore terrorist Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) network, Mas Selamat Kastari, escaped from the Whitley Road detention centre at about 4.05 pm on Wednesday, said the Ministry of Home Affairs in a statement.
A massive manhunt involving the police, Gurkhas and Special Operations Command forces, is underway to track down the escaped detainee, who walks with a limp.
'He is not known to be armed. Extensive police resources have been deployed to track him down,' said the ministry statement.
The forces have fanned out to areas in Beauty World in Upper Bukit Timah, Goldhill Avenue near Barker Road, and the men are knocking on homes asking residents if they have seen the escapee.
Yep, my estate was totally encompassed by scores of policemen and soldiers. Special operations personnel were all over the place. There were road blocks at the exit points of the estate. We even saw a car bearing the licence plate 'SPF 1'. No prize for correct guesses as to whose car that was! We also saw the top guy of our Gurkha Force.
I smsed the news to Ben and Emily and told them to 'train' to Newton Station so that I can pick them up. Guess what? They met up with each other at Orchard and told me they would 'bus' and then walk home together. They were such 'kaypohs', like their mummy!
Wow, the security personnel rang my doorbell at 12.40am, requesting to come in to check my garden and the backyard! The plainclothes officer and the young NSFs trooped into my house, boots and all. Gosh, Laogong slept right through all the noise!
Earlier, I had asked Laogong if we should go for our usual after-dinner walk. He replied, 'Why not? Tonight's the safest night ever to have a stroll!'
I hope our security forces apprehend that chap asap!

(223) choices...
It was mealtime on a budget airline and the flight stewardess asked the passenger if he would like dinner.
Hungry Passenger: What are my choices?
Flight Stewardess: Yes or No.
NERD 1: Wow, where did you get such a great bike?
NERD 2: Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, 'Take what you want.'
NERD 1 (nodded approvingly): Good choice, the clothes probably wouldn't have fit.
Sometimes life is difficult because of the number of choices we have to make. Some choices are very easy to make - it's either right or wrong, black or white. But many fall in gray areas. Sometimes we have to decide between what is good and what is better, what is just okay and what is right or best.
