(191) cool bananas...
Besides providing us an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy, bananas can help overcome or prevent a number of illnesses and conditions.....
STROKE:
According to research, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
BLOOD PRESSURE:
The banana is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to reduce the risk of blood pressure.
NERVES:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
PMS:
Forget the pills - the vitamin B6 a banana contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
STRESS:
Potassium helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates our body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thus reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
DEPRESSION:
According to a survey, people suffering from depression felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time!!

(190) super nanny...
I have been asked to babysit the nephews and nieces on so many occasions that I could have started/run a creche or childcare centre.
I took care of 3rd sis-in-law's kids last Sunday. Anne and Clare are 'easy' as they are already 9 and 5. It used to be 'plonk the kids in front of the TV'. But nowadays, all you have to do is allocate each a computer and they can entertain themselves for hours! Hmmm... bad bad aunt!
As for Charles... I had not looked after a 3-year toddler for a really long time. And that included diaper changing and the spoonfeeding during lunch! Tots are quite draining (mentally) but I had Emily to play with him. Sorry Judith, you had to fly off the night before. Sorry BTG, you had some NDP rehearsal thingy that day.
Kids (not your own) are easy to take care of.... really. Just have some sweets, jellies and kiddy-size drink packs in your home. Throw in the computer games (toys for the tots), a 'bubble' bath and a trip to the neighbourhood playground and they are your slaves for life!

(186) reduce, reuse, recycle...
Jon is on the back page of today's issue of the Catholic News!
Actually it was the photo of the guys from the different uniformed groups that caught my eye first. When I realised that the drum major was Ian Chai (Jon's primary school classmate), I immediately knew that Jon would be in the pic too!
If you have a copy of the Catholic News and you are sharp enough, you will see that there are actually 2 pics of Jon on the back page! One of the photos is an old one - when he was in Secondary 3! Gosh, surely SJI has more than enough boys for their photo-shoots??

(185) guilt trip...
I have not visited my parents for more than 10 days. I can't make time for them cos Laogong's relatives from China are in town. The couple are here to source for business opportunities and for multiple medical check-ups.
I am the chauffeur. I am the translator. I even had to 'google' information for them as they are 'English-less' and are not familiar with the internet. OMG, I have just been told that another couple are visiting next month!
P/S: I found time to visit my parents on Sunday 1 July PP/S: The other couple's not coming afterall. I mean they are not coming in July, BUT in August with five others!
