(24) lucky me...
No, I didn't win something better than the air ticket to Bangkok but this is equally good or maybe better??
After running some errands, I was wondering if I should go to TTSH A&E cos of late, my shoulder was hurting more that hubby told me not to wait till the June appointment but to go to A&E today. But thrifty me decided to go home! After making some calls, I decided to call TTSH Medical Centre. Of course, I had my misgivings, afterall I always get the same reply every day... NO, NO CANCELLATIONS, NO FREE SLOTS! But to my amazement, the girl asked me where I stayed and asked if I could be at TTSH in 5 min. Of course I said 'YES... but I'll be there in 10 min!'
Luckily, I had not changed out of my 'going-out' clothes. I decided taking a taxi was faster than driving there cos going down the narrow winding ramps into the basement carpark was difficult. Furthermore, I may have to drive around the carpark before I find a lot. It was the correct decision because I left home at 10.35am and finished off only at 4.10pm. If my shoulder pain doesn't kill me, the parking charges would!!!
Once I arrived at TTSH, I saw the doctor within half an hour, sat in his room for less than 5 min and off I went to have x-rays taken. Then it was back to the doctor who said that I was probably suffering from 'frozen shoulder' and that I needed physiotherapy. Hahaha, it's not rotator cuff stuff afterall. I paid up and set off to the physiotherapy department. The clerk there asked me if I wanted the 2.45pm slot today and if I didn't want it, the earliest date would be in 2 weeks' time. Of course, I grabbed the afternoon slot but only after checking with sis-in-law that she could pick Jon.
I had about 2 hours to kill so I thought I could take a leisurely walk home, then drive back for my physio session. But then, it started raining, so I went to Novena Square. What a boring place, except for the eateries! Anyway, I went back to TTSH, walked around the foodcourt and the few shops there! Waaah... saw this stall selling my favourite foods: penang laksa and popiah but I had to restrain myself as it was the 2nd day of my diet program!! NEVER EVER LEAVE the house if you are on a diet! Anyway, after the physio session, I bought afternoon tea for everybody (me excluded) and then waited for hubby to pick me.
AHHHHHH..... food! But never mind, I got to see the orthopedic specialist earlier than the scheduled appointment in June! And the BEST PART... I didn't have to pay the $75 A&E fee again! And because I had the referral letter from the polyclinic, I only paid $32.70 consultation fee vs $108.50 and $14.90 for physiotherapy vs $56.57! Wow, I saved $117.43 but that will go to paying handphone bills!!
Hmm... I seem to be lucky lately! Aiyah, no casino yet! So, 4-D this weekend??
