We brought the paternal grandparents to Nihon Mura @ Revenue House for dinner last night. As it was their first time there, I was their 'tour guide'. I showed them the self-service sushi belt, the wide array of 'ice-cream sticks' and how orders were placed. The in-laws didn't want any sashimi or sushi, they wanted only cooked food. When dad-in-law asked if that green paste was wasabi, Laogong said (with a straight face) it was Japanese chilli!
Ben, Emily, Jon, Iggy and Edward headed straight to the belt and picked off mostly salmon sushi. Then they went around collecting the 'ice-cream sticks' like nobody's business. I did not order anything, I ate whatever everybody could not finish. No wonder I can never lose those excess fats.... I'm the family's trash bin.
